I was trying to install the latest audacity beta version 1.3.9. It installed just fine with no errors. I could even select English during the install. I would run the exe and it comes up in a whacked language that I can’t read and didn’t even select.
Well, it turns out that audacity has a config file now. Vista users need to go to “c:\users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Audacity\” the file is called “audacity.cfg” Open it up in your text editor of choice and look for the [Locale] section. My language= was set to “el” I set mine to language=en and saved the file. Opened audacity and it works great now.
